Nachdem wir euch jetzt wirklich lange genug auf die Folter gespannt haben, lassen wir die Katze(n) endlich aus dem Sack und stellen euch jeden Tag ein neues Mitglied von echoes vor. Es ist uns gelungen, sämtliche unserer Wunschkandidaten für echoes zu gewinnen und damit eine Band auf die Beine zu stellen, die den Erwartungen an echoes mehr als gerecht wird. Die Idee, die die Bandgründer Paul Ahrens und Steffen Maier 1993 von einer Pink Floyd-Tributeband hatten, steht nach wie vor im Mittelpunkt. Und wohl noch nie waren wir dem Ideal dieser Idee so nahe, wie mit dem neuen Line-Up, dessen erste Tourtermine wir ebenfalls in den nächsten Tagen online stellen.
Die Vorstellungsreihe beginnen wir mit:
Dennis Hormes – Lead-Guitar & Vocals
Ein allzu großes Geheimnis war es zugegeben nicht mehr, hat Dennis doch bereits in den vergangen acht Jahren regelmäßig als Vertretung die Gilmour-Position bei echoes eingenommen und dabei immer wieder für Staunen, Gänsehaut und Begeisterung vor und auf der Bühne gesorgt. Für die Rolle des „Ersatzmannes“ war der deutsche Ausnahmegitarrist zwar eigentlich fast schon Verschwendung, aber als großer Fan von Pink Floyd im Allgemeinen und von David Gilmour im Speziellen ließ er sich gerne darauf ein. Keine Frage, dass er nun die allererste Wahl für den Vollzeit-Job war. Ein Glücksfall für echoes und alle Pink Floyd-Fans, dass er sofort zugesagt hat!
Schon als ganz jungen Teenager zog es Dennis – mit dem Segen seiner Eltern – nach New York City, wo er in der Tourband von T.M. Stevens die harte Rock’n’Roll-Schule absolvierte. Mit 16 Jahren war er schon Endorser für Gibson Gitarren – bis heute der jüngste! Auf seinem ersten Soloalbum „Six String Therapy“ dokumentierte er seine herausragenden Fähigkeiten. Kein Wunder also, dass Dennis ein vielgefragter Musiker ist, sowohl im Studio als auch auf der Bühne. Die Liste der Künstler, mit denen er zusammenarbeitet bzw. bereits zusammengearbeitet hat, ist lang. Ein kleiner Auszug: National mit Luxuslärm, Fettes Brot, The Boss Hoss, Julia Neigel, international u.a. mit Kool & The Gang, George McCrae und Cutting Crew – und ab sofort natürlich mit echoes! 🙂
After keeping you in suspense for quite some time, we’re finally letting the cat(s) out of the bag and introducing you to a new member of echoes every day. We’ve managed to recruit all of our desired candidates for echoes, thus assembling a band that more than lives up to the expectations for echoes. The idea that band founders Paul Ahrens and Steffen Maier had in 1993 of a Pink Floyd tribute band is still at the heart of the band. And perhaps never before have we been so close to the ideal of this idea as with the new line-up, the first tour dates of which we will also be announcing online in the next few days.

Dennis Hormes – Lead Guitar & Vocals
Admittedly, it wasn’t much of a secret anymore, as Dennis has regularly filled in the Gilmour position at echoes for the past eight years, consistently delivering moments of astonishment, goosebumps, and excitement both on and off the stage. While it may have seemed like a waste to have such an exceptional guitarist in the role of a „stand-in,“ Dennis, being a big fan of Pink Floyd in general and David Gilmour in particular, gladly embraced it. It’s no question that he was now the top choice for the full-time job. It’s a stroke of luck for echoes and all Pink Floyd fans that he agreed immediately!
As a very young teenager, Dennis – with his parents‘ blessing – headed to New York City, where he underwent the tough Rock’n’Roll school in the touring band of T.M. Stevens. By the age of 16, he was already an endorser for Gibson guitars – still the youngest to date! His first solo album „Six String Therapy“ showcased his outstanding abilities. It’s no wonder that Dennis is a highly sought-after musician, both in the studio and on stage. The list of artists he collaborates or has collaborated with is long. Here’s a small selection: Nationally with Luxuslärm, Fettes Brot, The Boss Hoss and Julia Neigel, internationally with Kool & The Gang, George McCrae, and Cutting Crew – and from now on, of course, with echoes! 🙂
