Tatsächlich: Wir haben eine Acoustic-Show gespielt – sogar eine „ausverkaufte“: Am letzten Samstag im Aschaffenburger Stadttheater, der Wiege von „Barefoot To The Moon“. Aufgrund der in Bayern geltenden Kapazitätsbeschränkung auf 25% gab es nur wenige Plätze. Und es fanden sich auch genug enthusiastische Menschen, die sich trotz aller geltenden Regeln, dem Abstandsgebot und der Maskenpflicht das Konzert nicht entgehen lassen wollten. Dafür ein herzliches Dankeschön!
Doch auch wir blieben bei diesem Konzert nicht von Corona verschont: Von den 10 Leuten, die da auf der Bühne stehen sollten, musste die Hälfte – teils recht kurzfristig – aufgrund von Infektion oder Quarantäne ersetzt werden. Zwei Tage vor dem Konzert hing somit alles am seidenen Faden: Ein weiterer infizierter oder in Quarantäne geschickter Musiker, und das Konzert wäre ausgefallen. Doch wir blieben zum Glück vor weiteren Ausfällen verschont. Zudem machten die eingesprungenen Kolleginnen und Kollegen ihre Sache mehr als gut, sodass wir inmitten der Omikron-Welle tatsächlich ein tolles Konzert spielen konnten.
Aber die Realität holt uns schneller ein, als uns lieb sein kann. Vier weitere Konzerte müssen abgesagt/verlegt werden, davon drei Acoustic-Shows (Wilhelmshaven, Oberhausen und Ansbach) sowie unser Konzert in Ludwigshafen-Oppau. Letzteres hat mit der nun fünften (!) Verlegung einen traurigen Rekord aufgestellt. Genauere Infos zu den Absagen und Verlegungen gibt es auf unserer Infoseite bzw. im Tourplan.
Auch in den nächsten Tagen und Wochen werden wir im Nebel stochern und Hoffen und Bangen, dass zumindest die beiden letzten noch nicht abgesagten bzw. verlegten Konzerte unserer Acoustic-Tour in Remchingen und Altenburg-Kosma über die Bühne gehen können. Wir werden schauen, wie sich die Lage entwickelt und euch hier immer auf dem Laufenden halten.
Immerhin: Für Frühjahr/Sommer sind wir verhalten optimistisch, zumal da gleich im Mai ein echtes Open Air-Highlight ansteht: Vor 50 Jahren traten auf der Insel Grün im beschaulichen Germersheim im Rahmen des „British Rock Meeting“-Festival ein paar noch nicht ganz so bekannte Jungs aus England namens „Pink Floyd“ auf. In Erinnerung an dieses legendäre Festival wird es in Germersheim wieder ein großes Open Air geben. Und wir sind mehr als stolz darauf, dass wir als die Band ausgewählt wurden, die die Erinnerung an Pink Floyd 1972 hochhalten darf!
Indeed: We played an acoustic show – even a „sold out“ one: Last Saturday at the Aschaffenburg Stadttheater, the cradle of „Barefoot To The Moon“. Due to the capacity limitation of 25% in Bavaria, there were only a few seats. And there were enough enthusiastic people who didn’t want to miss the concert despite all the existing rules, the distance requirement and the mask obligation. A big thank you for that!
But even we were not spared from Corona at this concert: Of the 10 people who were supposed to be on stage, half had to be replaced – partly at short notice – due to infection or quarantine. Two days before the concert everything was hanging by a thread: One more infected or quarantined musician, and the concert would have been cancelled. But we were fortunately spared any further cancellations. In addition, the colleagues who stepped in did a more than good job, so that we were actually able to play a great concert in the midst of the Omikron wave.
But reality caught up with us faster than we would have liked. Four more concerts have to be cancelled/rescheduled, three of them acoustic shows (Wilhelmshaven, Oberhausen and Ansbach) as well as our concert in Ludwigshafen-Oppau. The latter has set a sad record with the now fifth (!) postponement. More detailed information about the cancellations and postponements can be found on our info page or in the tour schedule.
In the next days and weeks we will continue to poke around in the fog and hope and fear that at least the last two concerts of our Acoustic Tour in Remchingen and Altenburg-Kosma, which have not yet been cancelled or postponed, will be able to take place. We will see how the situation develops and keep you up to date here.
Nevertheless: We are cautiously optimistic for spring/summer, especially since there is a real open air highlight coming up right in May: 50 years ago, a couple of not quite so well known guys from England called „Pink Floyd“ performed at the „British Rock Meeting“ festival on the island of Grün in the tranquil town of Germersheim. In memory of this legendary festival there will be a big open air in Germersheim again. And we are more than proud to have been chosen as the band to hold up the memory of Pink Floyd 1972!
