Nachdem im Sommer und Frühherbst wieder Konzerte gespielt werden konnten, machte sich nicht zuletzt aufgrund der Impfkampagne tatsächlich wieder so etwas wie Zuversicht breit, dass die Pandemie in ihre Auslauf-Phase gehen könnte. Heute, knapp zwei Wochen vor Weihnachten, müssen wir feststellen, dass diese Zuversicht sehr trügerisch war. Mehr noch: Die Pandemie-Lage hat sich in den letzten Wochen in einer Art und Weise verschärft, die man so nicht erwartet hätte (bzw. nicht erwarten wollte). So mussten nach unserem Konzert am 12.11. im Colos-Saal Aschaffenburg alle weiteren Konzerte bis Jahresende verlegt bzw. abgesagt werden.
Der Blick nach vorne gleicht dem in eine Nebelwand. Unsere Acoustic-Tour, geplant für Januar, Februar und März, steht auf äußerst wackeligen Beinen. Zum einen sind da die behördlichen Beschränkungen (Sachsen hat ein komplettes Veranstaltungsverbot erlassen, in Bayern dürfen aktuell nur 25% der jeweiligen Kapazität genutzt werden), zum anderen die Vorgaben an die Konzertbesucher wie 2G, 2G plus, Abstand und Maske. Und zudem steht schon die Omikron-Variante vor der Tür, die aktuell überhaupt noch nicht einzuschätzen ist. Angesichts all dieser Dinge sind viele Menschen natürlich verunsichert, ob sie in der aktuellen Situation überhaupt unter Menschen gehen sollen. Uns geht es da ja genauso.
In dieser Lage ist es eine gewaltige, teils wohl leider auch unmögliche Herausforderung, Konzerte sowohl in gesundheitlich als auch wirtschaftlich vernünftiger Weise durchzuführen. Uns bleibt nur eines: Abwarten. Im Moment kann man noch nicht einmal vorhersehen, was in der nächsten Woche passiert. Die Planungssicherheit liegt bei Null.
Und so werden auch wir uns in den kommenden Wochen von Tag zu Tag hangeln und schauen, was möglich ist und was nicht. Wir stehen in engem Kontakt mit den Veranstaltern und werden euch immer zeitnah informieren, ob und in welcher Form die geplanten Konzerte stattfinden können. Da wir nicht voreilig schon Konzerte verlegen bzw. absagen wollen, werden zwangsläufig kurzfristige Entscheidungen anstehen. Dafür bitten wir schon jetzt um Verständnis.
Trotzdem wünschen wir euch noch eine schöne restliche Adventszeit. Ein Abend mit Kerzenlicht, einem guten Glas Wein und unserer Live-DVD „Barefoot To The Moon“ (erhältlich im Shop) ist da sicher keine schlechte Idee. 🙂
After concerts could be played again in the summer and early fall, something like confidence spread again that the pandemic could enter its phasing-out phase, not least due to the vaccination campaign. Today, almost two weeks before Christmas, we have to realize that this confidence was very deceptive. Even more: The pandemic situation has worsened in the last weeks in a way that we did not expect (or did not want to expect). After our concert on November 12 in the Colos-Saal Aschaffenburg, all further concerts until the end of the year had to be postponed or cancelled.
Looking ahead is like looking into a wall of fog. Our acoustic tour, planned for January, February and March, is on extremely shaky ground. On the one hand there are the official restrictions (Saxony has issued a complete ban on events, in Bavaria currently only 25% of the respective capacity may be used), on the other hand there are the requirements for concert visitors such as 2G, 2G plus, distance and mask. And on top of that, the Omicron variant is already on the horizon, which currently cannot be assessed at all. In view of all these things, many people are naturally unsure whether they should go out among people at all in the current situation. We feel the same way.
In this situation, it is an enormous, and in some cases unfortunately impossible, challenge to carry out concerts in a way that makes sense both from a health and an economic point of view. There is only one thing left for us to do: wait and see. At the moment, we can’t even predict what will happen next week. The planning reliability is at zero.
And so we, too, will shimmy from day to day in the coming weeks and see what is possible and what is not. We are in close contact with the local promoters and will always inform you promptly whether and in what form the planned concerts can take place. Since we don’t want to postpone or cancel concerts prematurely, we will inevitably have to make short-term decisions. We ask for your understanding already now.
Nevertheless, we wish you a wonderful Advent season. An evening with candlelight, a good glass of wine and our live DVD „Barefoot To The Moon“ (available in our shop) is certainly not a bad idea. 🙂
